"This Time Next Week" is an interesting, newly published book from the pen of Barbara Kelland, a onetime pupil at the Masonic girls’ schools at Weybridge and Rickmansworth during the mid 1930s and World War II.

Losing her Freemason father at a very early age, Barbara, now a retired teacher, lives in Dorset with her husband where her spare time is spent watercolour painting.

Although the Masonic content is relatively small, Barbara makes no little recognition of the philanthropic principles of Freemasonry and the sacrifices her mother made for her. And to those of us who were about during the period in question, the book contains much to stir memories of how austere those times were, particularly with its numerous references to food and clothes rationing.

I can certainly recommend the book as something of a captivating rather than compelling read. Our ladies will probably find it so. And to this end it will be placed in the Provincial library at The Grange.

In acknowledging the generosity extended by the Craft to Barbara and her mother, she has requested that all royalties from sales of the book go to the RMIG Endowment Trust.
